M. Lambe Construction crowned ‘Specialist Contractor of the Year’ at the 2018 Building Awards

We are celebrating after winning the ‘Specialist Contractor of the Year’ accolade at the prestigious 2018 Building Awards.

The judges chose M. Lambe Construction as its winner, due to the successful delivery of a 3-year business transformation strategy, which involved a focus on targeting a number of schemes over £25m.

The tactic paid off, with construction revenue and profit up on the previous year. This provided the business with the necessary finances to invest £175,000 in training programmes and £3.94m in state-of-the-art plant and technology. The firm has also boosted its staff numbers by more than one-fifth to 122.

Michael Lambe, Director, M. Lambe Construction, said: “The level of competition this year was exceptional and so it’s an absolute honour to receive this award.

“I’m most pleased for our very talented and hardworking team. They always go the extra mile to ensure our clients receive the highest quality of workmanship across all of our projects. It’s a pleasure to see their efforts recognised through this award.”

Competition for the award was strong, with 9 other businesses vying for the title: Billington Structures, Britplas, Gloster MEP, Lee Marley Brickwork, Metclad Contracts, O’Keefe, Prater, Reconomy and SES Engineering Services.
