M. Lambe Construction sign up to the Race At Work Charter

We are pleased to announce that M. Lambe Construction has signed up to the Race at Work Charter.

The main aim of the charter is to ensure businesses operate a recruitment policy and provide career development opportunities: based on an individual’s merits and ability alone.

Michael Lambe, director and executive sponsor for race, M. Lambe Construction, said: “Equality has always been a core part of our business ethics. By joining the charter, we are saying to potential and existing employees this is a company where they will be treated equally and supported along a successful career pathway, without prejudice.”

Our business is headquartered in Birmingham, a region with a proud history of multiculturalism. Yet, many of the city’s residents who live in the most deprived areas are of a minority group.

Michael Lambe, said: “Research has found that where social deprivation exists, residents have very limited prospect of achieving a good level of education and getting on a career pathway. I’d like to see more done by the construction industry to support these communities. An increase in apprenticeship schemes – with vocational education – will not only help tackle deprivation, but it will also go a long way in resolving the skills crisis we face in construction today. It’s a win win for all.”
