The main aim of the charter is to ensure businesses operate a recruitment policy and provide career development opportunities: based on an individual’s merits and ability alone.

Our business is headquartered in Birmingham, a region with a proud history of multiculturalism. Yet, many of the city’s residents who live in the most deprived areas are of a minority group.

I’d like to see more done by the construction industry to support these communities. An increase in apprenticeship schemes – with vocational education – will not only help tackle deprivation, but it will also go a long way in resolving the skills crisis we face in construction today. It’s a win win for all.”
