Four internal promotions to strengthen Lambe’s construction leadership for housebuilders
M Lambe Construction has announced four internal promotions, positioning our construction leadership team for a smooth transition ahead of Construction Director Mick Fleming’s planned retirement in October.
All four appointments are intended to provide our housebuilding clients with continuity and familiar relationships as construction leadership passes to the next generation.
Luke O’Brien has been promoted to Group Head of Construction
Luke has led construction in the newly formed Central Region since 2025, overseeing delivery and managing a team of Contracts Managers, Project Managers and site operatives.
Since joining the business in 2020, he has played an important role in developing relationships with clients including Wavensmere Homes and Vistry South East Midlands.
Luke led Lambe’s delivery at Derby’s Nightingale Quarter and Friar Gate Goods Yard, where he raised expectations for quality and site presentation and helped apply Lambe’s Standards across Central Region sites. As a result, Lambe’s has become a trusted partner for Wavensmere Homes.
In his new group role, Luke will bring that focus on quality and consistency to our clients across the business, making sure Lambe’s standards and key construction processes are applied consistently on every site.
Michael McGettrick has been promoted to Construction Manager, North Midlands
Michael joined Lambe’s straight out of school as a trainee engineer, before graduating with a first‑class Civil Engineering degree. He worked as an engineer for eight years and is widely recognised as one of the most technically competent people in the business.
Last year, he was promoted to Contracts Manager and took over the two biggest sites in the business. The ease with which he made that transition, combined with his ability to plan and strategise our most complex sites, makes him well suited to the Construction Manager role for the North Midlands.
Ciaran Boyle has been promoted to Construction Manager, South Midlands
Ciaran joined Lambe's as a construction management graduate thirteen years ago. At first, he worked in the health and safety team, progressing from Assistant SHE Manager to SHE Manager.
After five years in the business, it was clear that Ciarán’s interests extended beyond health and safety, and he made the decision to move into project management. He quickly became one of our highest‑performing Contracts Managers, known for delivering ambitious programmes while identifying and developing other talented people in the business.
Tom Kelly has been promoted to Construction Manager, Central Region
Tom was completely new to the groundworks and civil engineering industry when he joined the business eight years ago, having previously worked as an electrician. He initially trained as a Project Manager and showed strong leadership qualities from very early on.
He quickly developed a thorough understanding of groundworks and demonstrated a talent for building strong client relationships. Over the last 12 months, he has played a leading role in strengthening our relationship with Crest Nicholson, helping us move from the fringes to becoming a trusted partner.
His compound setup and adoption of Lambe’s Standards have been among the best we’ve seen in the business. The way he sets up a site now establishes the standard for new projects.
Michael Lambe, CEO, said:
All four lads are committed to our values and the standards we expect to deliver for our housebuilding clients. They’ve each played a significant role in building trusted relationships both with our clients and inside the business. Luke's appointment to a group role will support all three new Construction Managers as they step up from contracts management to regional leadership, helping to keep standards consistently high across our three Midlands regions.
