How we’re improving delivery for our clients (and creating new career pathways in the process)
Thirteen years ago, Kane Gibbons was 17 years old and more interested in Gaelic football than construction.
Last month, he was promoted to Managing Director.
We’re proud to say that Kane is one of twelve team members promoted to leadership as we restructured our business to improve how we deliver residential groundworks for our clients.
At the same time, we’ve created clear paths for career development, renewing our commitment to help people build careers worth staying for.
Kane Gibbons becomes MD after joining us as a trainee QS thirteen years ago.
What's changed
On 14th July 2025, we restructured from two regions to three: North Midlands, Central and South Midlands.
Each region is now led by newly promoted commercial and construction leaders who've been working towards these positions for years.
Why this matters for you
As a housebuilder, when you call your groundworker asking, "Can you meet me on site in the morning?" the answer should always be yes.
The new structure helps us achieve this by putting more boots on the ground, with stronger support behind the scenes.
We've spent twelve months preparing for this change, bringing preconstruction, construction, commercial and technical under group leadership.
If you work with us across multiple locations, you’ll now get the same high-quality approach to tendering, engineering, and project planning, whether your sites are in Derby or Daventry.
Faster responses
You’ll always know who to speak to, and they’ll know everything there is to know about what’s happening on your sites.
More proactive problem-solving
Regional leads can spot more issues early and sort them out while still on site. When complex challenges arise, our group board brings specialist expertise your regional team can call on immediately.
More focus on quality and presentation
Your regional leads can spend more quality time on site, upholding professional standards.
Smoother working relationships
Our regional leaders have come up through the business, so they know how to deliver for you in a collaborative way.
Regional leadership:
North Midlands
Richard Smith (Construction Manager) and Nathan Convery (Commercial Manager)
Central

The regional leadership team has already been meeting to agree on how they’ll share labour, make decisions and support each other.

““With all twelve promotions coming from within the business, clients can expect to see familiar faces and experience the same shared values. That continuity protects what our clients tell us they value most: the ability to sit across the table with people who talk openly and sort things out quickly. It also shows our people that if you want to build a career here, you can.””
What’s next for Lambe’s?
When Kane joined us as a trainee, he rotated through various departments across the business, doing a short stint on site, in accounts, payroll, and the buying office.
Kane’s experience will inform the development of our new graduate training scheme, helping graduates and career switchers gain a comprehensive understanding of the business as a whole.
As we continue to adapt to meet the needs of our clients, each new region will present further opportunities for career development.
This new structure supports our commitment to achieving a 50% social housing order book, positioning us to better serve partners in the affordable housing sector as government investment increases.
